Dr. Barry Mulholland, Ph.D., the lead organizer of Diversitas and The University of Akron’s director of financial planning, was recently quoted in Coryanne Hicks’ US News & World Report article, “The Best Podcasts for Financial Advisors.”

In the piece, Mulholland suggests the podcast “Conversations for Financial Professionals,” hosted by Dominique Henderson, with new episodes each Wednesday and Friday. Dominique Henderson moderated our November forum on networking and you can watch it here.

“[This podcast] helps career changers hear from industry insiders about their paths into the industry and the great opportunities that lie ahead if they choose that path,” says Dr. Mulholland.

“Dominique has a comfortable interview style that opens up the conversation,” Dr. Mulholland says. “It is a great podcast for not only people thinking of joining the profession but also those who need encouragement to keep moving forward on their journey.”

Dr. Mulholland also references the podcast Allies of the Industry, hosted by Emlen Miles-Mattingly and Dasarte Yarnway. They created Onyx Advisor Network to support underrepresented financial advisors, and we’ve partnered with them as their goal to create opportunities for diverse voices in wealth management align with ours. The podcast just launched in September, but is gaining momentum for providing a voice to underrepresented advisors.

“Given the first couple of episodes, it promises to be a source of inspiration and support for advisors who may not feel they fully belong in the industry,” Dr. Mulholland says.
